Independence Australia is Now a Proud Distributor of Wound Consumable Products

Every year, more than 450,000 Australians suffer from chronic wounds, those that do not heal within 30 days. So, to address this, the Australian Government has introduced the Chronic Wound Consumables Scheme (CWCS), which provides essential wound care products to eligible individuals at no additional costs.

From June 2025, the scheme will cover the cost of wound consumable products for people over 65 and for First Nations people, who are over 50, and individuals with diabetes and chronic wounds.

Independence Australia distributes wound consumable products under the Chronic Wound Consumables Scheme to benefit eligible individuals.

Wound Consumable Products We Offer

We provide a wide range of wound consumables that can be used to treat and manage chronic wounds.

These include:

  • Bandages and Dressings: These are essential supplies for covering wounds, preventing infections and maintaining moisture balance.
  • Adhesives: These are used to secure dressings and bandages.
  • Compression Systems: These help improve blood flow and are used for leg ulcers.
  • Other Specialised Products: These are antimicrobial dressings and wound fillers customised for specific wound types.

The CWCS covers the full cost of these products and ensures patients receive appropriate care without financial constraints.

If you are a patient and need wound consumable products, you can access this scheme by visiting an eligible health professional who will assess your wounds and order the wound care products from us through an online portal.

If you are a healthcare professional, you can connect with us and we will guide you with the steps you need to follow to secure the products. We can deliver the consumables to you or directly to the patient at no cost from the patient’s end.
